Clients seem interested in better understanding the various generations in the workplace and how to connect with them in unique ways. I'm a VERY young baby boomer, but I relate to Gen X themes too. For example: Baby Boomers are known for their work ethic and the idea that the work is the reward - we grew up in jobs that we were thankful for and didn't expect a parade every time we hit our numbers. But rewards are different for the younger, Gen Z generation where hourly celebrations on social media are the norm and the number of likes and comments keep your dopamine going throughout the day.
To hear more about the generations and how we can use research to better connect with our working teams, take a listen to this podcase that host Mary Baird was so kind to invite me to. We are very similar in our approach to managing in the work place - I think you will enjoy the conversation!
